4. Take small pinches and roll into balls the size of marbles. 

5. Place in the freezer for an hour.

  • 1/3 cup organic turmeric
  • 3 tbsp raw honey
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 5 drops black pepper essential oil
  • 5 drops ginger essential oil

1. Gather all the ingredients.

2. Measure all ingredients and put in a small bowl.

3. Mix all ingredients well to form a paste. 

6. Place in a glass jar with a lid and store in the refrigerator. Eat two to three pieces per day as needed. Enjoy!

You NEED Surgery

Unnecessary surgery has been defined as:

Why Does it Happen?

In 1953 Dr. Paul Hawley, the Director of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), published an editorial in the New York Times that said, “the public would be shocked if it knew the amount of unnecessary surgery performed…” 

Then, in 1976 the American Medical Association (AMA)  reported that  there were 2.4 million unnecessary operations performed every year on Americans…

Caused the death of 11,900 men and women like you and me…

And costing the industry over $3.9 billion.

And today…?

The wheel keeps churning, and the pattern continues.

In fact, data from the most recent studies suggest that at least 11% of all surgeries are considered unnecessary or inappropriate.

That’s millions of Americans who are going under the knife who shouldn’t. 

So What is Unnecessary Surgery?

"any surgical intervention that is either not needed, not indicated, or not in the patient's best interest when weighed against other available options, including conservative measures."

The truth is that unnecessary surgery should NEVER happen…

But it does.

Every. Single. Day.

Now, this is not just opinion.

There have been dozens of articles and analyses published in the medical literature on the patterns of inappropriate/unnecessary surgery…

And the science on this subject is very clear…

Orthopedic procedures – things like partial and total knee, hip, and spinal surgeries…

All FREQUENTLY overused. 

Smart question.

The best way to understand why surgeons perform surgeries that are unnecessary or inappropriate is to ask them directly… 

So what do they themselves say are three main reasons?

“Because that’s what we have been trained to do.” I call this the “when you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail” excuse.

“We are incentivized to perform surgical procedures for financial gain.” This is the “follow the money” excuse.

“Large numbers of surgeries, especially complex procedures, build credibility and renown.” This is the “celebrity surgeon” excuse. 

Those excuses are exactly that…excuses.

For doing something that’s inexcusable. 

What FAKE SURGERY has taught us about REAL SURGERY

In July 2002, a landmark study was published in the New England Journal of Medicine.

The study was on 180 people who all had painful osteoarthritis of the knee.  

It was the first study of its kind to use something called “sham” or placebo surgery.

That’s when a patient gets anesthesia and two little incisions in their skin…but never actually gets any surgery done. A truly fake surgery.

These patients were evaluated multiple times over a period of two years...and the results shocked the medical establishment.

Arthroscopic surgery of the knee did not work.  In the words of the researchers themselves…the results in the real surgery group were “no better than those after a placebo procedure.”

Since the publication of that study in 2002, there have been MANY follow up studies…nearly all of them with the same conclusion.

The ESCAPE trial published in JAMA found that arthroscopic surgery for degenerative meniscus tears of the knee was useless, even after 5 years of follow up.  

The FIDELITY trial published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2013, with a follow up published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine in 2020 again found that arthroscopic knee surgery for degenerative meniscus tears didn’t help…and even INCREASED the risk of developing arthritis.  

Then, just recently a scathing commentary published in JAMA in 2022 points out that there are now decades of research that confirm that arthroscopic knee surgery is no better than placebo… yet the issue and use of these unnecessary, inappropriate, expensive, and dangerous surgeries persist.  

It’s a well-documented and well-known problem.

But, the problem is that physicians and surgeons need to do better at turning what they know into what they actually do!

What should you do instead?

Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, Naproxen…

And from there it bumps up to the prescription versions…

Which are ever more potent – and more dangerous.

And then…injections.  

Usually with a corticosteroid that will reduce inflammation temporarily…

But destroy bones in the process.

And finally, when the pharmacy is out of options…your doctor tells you that:

Millions of people go under the knife each year, searching for relief from pain and mobility issues. Expectations for a new lease on life are high, and they genuinely believe that the devices will deliver. And… sometimes they do - but oftentimes they don’t!
 
Sadly, many are not educated on less invasive, non-surgical options and feel that replacement is the only way.
